Tunnels and Shafts of New Almaden Mine

Tunnels and Shafts

Here are two maps of the tunnels and shafts of the New Almaden mine. The first shows the earlier development, while the second shows more or less the full development of the mining in the area. The maps were edited for clarity then georeferenced using QGIS software to overlay on a map of the park. I then added the trail map for the park from Santa Clara County data, in the form of Santa_Clara_County_Parks_Trails.shp. The result was exported as an image and turned into a pdf for convenient zoom and panning.
